CRICKET.

A match was played at the Hapara on Suurday afternoon between a team from Waimata and one from Gisborne. The weather was glorious and the ground in fine condition. Gisborne went first to the wickets, and stayed there until they made 104 Waimata replied with 48, just saving the follow-on by four runs. Gisborne then, with the consent of their opponents, decided to do some more leather hunting, and Waimata again wielded the willow and topped their first score by six, leaving Gisborne one innings and two runs to the good.
