The coastal steamer Australia came into port shortly after 10 o’clock on Thursday night, from North. Passengers: Meadamea Kemp and Arthur, Miss Gordon, Messrs Badley, Ngata, J, Jones, and Stubbs. The s.s. Southern Cross arrived from Wellington and Napier early yesterday morning. Passengers: Mrs Whitlock and child. Miss Mackley, Messrs Wright, Green, Forrest, Smail, Cato, Gibbs, Finnucane, Middows, and three steerage. The steamer Manapouri, from Sydney, Bussell, and Auckland, arrived in the roadstead at noon yesterday. Passengers: Mr and Mrs McNair, Mrs Jones, Mrs Arnold, Mirs Foster, Messrs A. 8. Cauiton, Shacklock, W. Brassey, 8. O. Cauiton, Sarten, A, Sawyer and J. Hughes. DEPARTURES. Tbs Australia steamed Sou'h on Thursday night, taking—Messrs Burnand and Christennan. The s.s. Southern Cross left for East Coast ports and Auckland at 11 o’clock yesterday morning. The steamer Manapouri continued her voyage South yesterday evening. Passengers: Mr and Mrs B. Burke, Mrs Spence and in* fant, Mrs Roulston four children and infant, Mrs Caro, Mieses Hayward and Dougherty, Messrs Romley, Lucas, S'evensnn, D. Page, Campbell, P, H. Rourke, and Wilson. The schooner Waiapu has sailed North. EXPECTED ARRIVALS. The ketch Venus is due from Napier tonight. The schooner Saucy Kate should reach Gisborne early next week, from Greymonth. The topsail schooner Awaroa was at Talapouri on Tuesday last discharging about 22 000 ft of timber, which will be used in the eraetion of an accommodation house for Mr B. 'Finlay, The timber is oomignsd to Mr W. O. Sheet, but before all of it was landed the vessel had to put out to ua, owing to a heavy southerly gale springing up. The steamer Wairarapa comes into port At daylight tomorrow morning, from Melbourne via South, She only goes as far tie Auckland and Ruasall this trip, returning here on Friday next. The schooner Gisborne was to have left for Auckland yesterday.
