HEAPING INDIGNITIES UPON GREAT BRITAIN. Capetown, April 20. The Portuguese fired upon the British steamer Agnes, which was conveying pioneers of the Willoughby expedition to Mashonaland, and seized the vessel’s cargo. The authorities also seized the mails, and it is Baid that they fusilladed and captured six vessels, but replaced their ensigns, The Englishmen who were on board were taken prisoners. Owing to tbe action of the Portuguese martial law has been proclaimed in Mashonaland. _. „ Lisbon, «April 20. The Governor of Mozambique declares that the Rhodea Company have broken the recently arranged modus vivendi; therefore the Portuguese have done the same. He also declares that heretofore only vessels flylog the Portuguese flag will be allowed on the Punjaweri river, which leads into territory claimed by the British South African Company.
