COUNTY COUNCIL.

An ordinary meeting of the above was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Ors dark, ’ (Chairman), Tuohy, Gray, Hepburn, and ! Orr. The Charitable Aid Board applied tor £338, subsidy for ensuing year, being £ll2 morp than that asked tor last year.—The Cbsirman : The matter is practically out of oaf hands. With regard to the road at Kaiteratahj the Engineer strongly urged the Connell to take the half-acre of laud offered by Mr Scott. It would make a far better approach to the bridge. The Engineer asked that a drain be out on the Wairoa road, about 20 chains, opposite Mr Oraill'e, and another 20 chains higher up. He mentioned that in all probability the Government would survey the Wairoa road and make the necessary deviations. It was decided that Crs Wethsred and Orr meet Mr Scott and make the best menu for taking over the land ; also to have the drains made. The Survey Office wrote stating that they would not examine any more plans tor the Council until the fees now due were paid.—. Decided to pay the amount, £3 10«. Messi's Currie and Hogan drew attention to the state of the road alongside the water trough.—Left to the Engineer to attend to.
