The Audit Office.

ITS NEGLECT STRONGLY DENOUNCED. (SPECIAL TO THE STANDARD.) Wellington, last night. Both the Post and the Press denounce the negligence of the Audit Office in reference to the Gisborne Harbor Board accounts. Tbe Press thinks tbe Legislature should take prompt action to secure a thorough reform in the Department. The Government considered the recent disclosures in connection with the Trust Office to be of so much importance that they have decided to postpone dealing with tbe matter until there has been a full meeting of tbe Cabinet, Which will probably take place next week. The Post suggests that the Audit Office be placed in a Commission under the control of a Board of three members performing the office of Public Trustee,
