Cook County Liberal Association.
The Association met last night, when there wss a good attendance. Mr E. P. Joyce (Vice-Pt esideat) was voted to the chair, and in a few expressive words oonveyed the regret of ths Association on the family bereavement of the President (Mr Sisvwright), Mi Birrell opened a discussion on “ Social, lets” in a sketch which was meant to be introductory to the subject. Tbe address Wf» very interesting, and was frequently applauded. A discussion followed, but lacked fire because all agreed until Mr Mr F. Stafford took up an opposition view in a fordftl? manner, This lead to a more animted discursiim, several gentlemen expressing th-i- views on the subject, It was decided to resume the subject next meeting night (Friday) when, in response to the unanimous wish of the meeting, Mr Birrell will again [aka the lead on another phase of the ■ulij ct,
