THE INFALLIBLE PRINCE.
PHIL ROBINSON IN HOT WATER. The tittle-tattle concerning the Prince of Wales' financial condition is causing other developments, of interest to those who are fond of club gossip. The SundayTimes, a newspaper that goes in strong for personal journalism, published an article alluding to the Prince’s alleged embarrassed condition financially. Mr Augustus Harris, the proprietor of the paper, explained to the Prince that the article was unauthorised, and he summarily dismissed the editor, Mr Phil Robinson. The editor claims that he wrote according to his instructions. He claims a year’s salary, and threatens to sue for it and call the Prince of Wales as a witness. Mr A’Beckett, of the Punch staff, has been appointed editor in Mr Robinson’s place, and the paper has published an abject apology for its Ftniarks.
