The Manchester Cup, of 2000 sovs, run at the Manthester Whitsuntide meeting, resulted as follows: —Lily of Lumley 1, Ragimnnde 2, and The Admiral 3. The Sydney Turf Club’s Queen’s Birthday meeting resulted as follows : —Royal Stakes : Kilmore 1; Theodore 2■> Sunshine 3. Club Handicap: Rover 1, Forbes 2, Lancer 3. The Cup : Lancer 1, Dick 2, and Volney 3. The Victorian Racing Club were favored with beautiful weather for their Birthday meeting, Appended are the principal events : —Royal Handicap : Spokesman 1, Star of Erin 2, Deerswood 3. Birthday Handicap : Gnaroe 1, Tourbillion 2, Whimbrel 3; in this race, Ramage, while riding Bendigo, was unfortunate enough to break his leg. At the Huntly disaster fund trotting and pony meeting, held in Auckland' on Saturday afternoon last, a sensational dividend of £l3O 16s was paid over the Selling Trot, won by a horse named Disappointment. The only investment on the horse was a solitary 10s ticket, conjointly held by two gentlemen. There was a disagreeable inci dent in connection with the race. A horse named Sailor Boy carried a wrong saddle cloth, and finished first. There was a howl amongst the public, and the stewards declared the race null and void. The race was run a second time, and was won as before stated by Disappointment. At the Town and Suburban races, held in Napier on the 25th inst., the principal events resulted as follows :—Hurdle Race, Rough 1 ; Maiden Flat, Carmo and Lady’s Maid ran a dead heat, in the run off the latter won; Birthday Handicap, Link 1; Second Hurdles, Rough 1; Taradale Handicap, Couranto 1; Selling Race, Silvermine 1; Welter Handicap, Carmo 1, a protest was entered against the winner on the ground that he was "rung in,” he being identical with Problem, who was disqualified in Dunedin a few years ago, the decision was held over by the stewards pending enquiries; Flying Handicap, Link 1; £3,893 was put through the machine.
