There is already a large number of seajs being booked for Friday night, when the famous singer will appear at the City Rink. The Sydney Daily Telegraph of ihe 3rd of October says :— •’ Madame Patey’s large style, impassioned utterance, and grand rich voice, with its organ tones, fairly electrified the houcs. Not only does Madame Patey excite the enthusiasm of the five shilling people—who, by tbe way, applauded in a delightfully undignified manner—but ehe rouses the gallery to cheers.” It took three cabs to carry away the bouquets that Madame Patey had presented to her in Adelaide. Tbe French Press, which does not generally approve of anything English, qild that her voice was like yurdc of velvet being rolled out of a machine. Sncfr was the enthusiasm in Paris, that the ladieq left their seats, and threw their bouquets from the stage door, so that the great singer should have to walk over them. She can sing both soprano and contralto, but she takes warning by Albani's mLfortune, and only sings the contralto, which is really her voice. tfre following is from Saturday's Naples News;—The booking for the patey seaeofr promises to eclipse tbe previous beat rccordii for Hawke’s Bay, and it has already beaten both io paint of speed. At I) this morning ths circle plan opened, and at 9 30 every seat on it was booked. This would be hard to beat anywhere, especia'ly when ths raised prices are considered. Now, it is proposed to ptac" 60 chairs in front of the ordinary stalls, to be reserved at 10a each, and a few rows of stallj to be reserved at 7s Bleach. It is probable that al! the seats downstairs will be numbered and reserved, and that no tickets whatever will be sold at the doors. Last night it came to Mr Lohr's ears that a speculator had arranged to reserve the whole circle as soon as tfre plan opened Et nine o'clock, aiteiwardc selling tha seats by auction.
