ARRIVALS.

The Union Company’s steamer Tarawera arrived in the bay, from Auckland, at 11.30 on Friday night. Passengers : Miss Butler, Messrs Rose, Kelly, Storey, Turner, and six steerage. The Southern Cross, from Auckland via eoast ports, arrived here at 10 p.m, on Friday. The Australia came into port early on Saturday morning, from South, bringing Mr and Mrs Barron and child, Mrs Moylan, Miss B. Taylor, Messrs Gray, Blackwood, Moylan, Sellar, and one Maori. The locally-owned ketch Venus (Captain Wares), from Gieymouth, arrived hare on Saturday morning, afier a rather lengthy passage of 14 days. She experienced very rough and variable weather on the trip up. The Venus brings 60 tons of coal for the Gas Company. DEPARTURES. The Tarawera steamed on South shortly after arrival on Friday night. Passengers: Mesdames Tiefgen, McKenzie, Jolly and two children, Misses Scott (2), and McKenzie, Messrs Mullooly, Kenny, Newton, Lysnar, Muir, Tiffen, and four Maoris. The Southern Cross left for Napier shortly after 3 o'clock on Saturday morning, taking —Mr and Mrs Butler and five stevedores. The Australia went on North on Saturday morning, taking—Mr Branson. • The schooner Opotiki, which was recently stranded in Napier, has been floated off, and is due in Gisborne this week. The passengers booked to leave by the Rotomahana were—Messrs Bingham, J. Martin, Atkins, and McKay,
