HIGH WATER—SUN RISES AND SETS

ARRIVALS. The steamer Fanny, from Napier, arrived in the bay at 3 o’clock on Sunday afternoon. Passengers: Mesdames McKay, and Green, Mr G. Walker, and two natives. The steamer Talune came into the bay yesterday morning, from Melbourne via South, bringing—Miss Tattersall, Rev. Canon Fox, Messrs Field, Cunningham, Preston, Gibson, and Barron. The Union Company’s coastal steamer Australia arrived in port on Saturday morning, from Wellington and Napier. Passengers: Mrs Mossman, Misses Rafters, and Pritchard, Messrs Marshall, Green, Watt, Brown, Hinchcliffo, Paratene Ngata, and J. Martin. DEPARTURES. The Australia steamed North on Saturday, taking one Maori. The steamer Talune went on to Auckland, Russell, and Sydney yesterday morning, taking—Mrs Smith, Messrs Hinton, Simms, Matthews (2), G. E, Moore, Irwin, Jackson, Bennett, and Ewan. The steamer Te Kapu returned to Napier shortly after 11 on Saturday night. TELEGRAPHIC. Spit, Sunday. Arrived —Te Kapu, at 9.30 a.m, from Gisborne. Lyttelton, Sunday. Arrived— Duke of Sutherland, at 9:30 p.m., from Cardiff. VESSELS EXPECTED. Waiapu, schooner, from Auckland Awanui, schooner, from Auckland Norwel, schooner, from Westport The steamer Fanny leaves for Napier at 4 this afternoon. The ketch Venns is expected to leave Napier this week for Hokitika. The schooners Opotiki and Waiwera are busily engaged discharging their cargoes at the wharf. The former vessel will return to Napier in a day or two. The barque Mataura will not ba able to ooms on to Gisborne to load fiozon meat, as she has to clear out one of the Napier works. Her place will most likely be filled by the steamer Hawke’s Bay. Transhipments of wool, tallow, and skins, for the Matauro, will be forwarded by the steamer Fanny this afternoon.
