Whataupoko Road Board.

The above body met on Tuesday afternoon, when there were present—Messrs Joyce (Chairman), Ollivier, Daly, Sigley, and R. Robb.

Tenders were received as follows for the lease of the Whataupoko pound for three years—W. Peryer £5, with full fees ;or £3 10s, fees to be 3s first day and 2s Gd each subsequent day. J. Fisher, the present poundkeeper, tendered at £5, for full fees s Mr Daly proposed, and Mr Ollivier seconded, that the tender of Mr Peryer be accepted, providing-that the feeding fee for the first day was Is, and scale rates to be charged afterwards—This was carried. Accounts were passed as follows—F. Hicks £3 17s, Bell 16s, interest £7O 9a, Rice £1 Is.

The Chairman said that at the Taruheru Footbridge Commission it had been brought to light that the Whataupoko Riding was not receiving a fair share of revenue, and he proposed that a statement of accounts be asked from the County Council, setting forth the manner in which the money had been disbursed by the Council in the Whataupoko riding since 1887. —Mr Ollivier Seconded the motion, which was carried.

The County Council only offering £75 for a subsidy, it wag decided that a rate £d in the £ be struck for 1891.
