A Visitor's Opinion.
[JO THE BBITOB,! Sib,—l have just noticed a local in your issue Of the 13'h, stating that there have been many instances of people having been " had ” in Gisborne by “ mere birds of passage,'l acd-advle;og them to do business through the resident agents. Thl» might be very sound adv[oe if given to any town save Gisborne, but unfortunately there are too many instances where the Gisborne people have been "had" by their “resident’’ agents. True these “ resident ” agents have since transformed themselves into “ birds of passage,” with the material difference from those whom your local disparages, that whereas the latter have a distinct destination the former continue their flight into unknown regions. Trusting that in fairness to those whom I represent you will insert this.—l am, do., j,t. c, wm.
