Waxworks Exhibition.

It is pot often that the promoters of local entertainments are agreeably suprised with a larger audience than that anticipated. The waxworks show and concert at the Church Of England Sunday school room on Tuesday night was so numerously attended that although every Inch of floor was occupied, there were numbers who could not gain admittance at all. The first part of the antestainmen't consisted of Mrs Jarley's Waxworks Exhibition, and the various figures looked exceedingly well under the many colored lights which were thrown upon them. Unfortunately, the smoke from these lights rolled up towards the roof in volumes, to descend and Impartially disperse itself among the audience, giving rise to a great deal of coughing and sneezing. The audience *u, however, good natured, and soon so much of the smoke as had not been swallowed by them left the building, and Mrs Jarley was enabled to proceed with her exhibition, Mrs Sunderland made an excellent topic-

sentation of the notable one, and greatly amused the audience with her quips and cranks, and local references. Mr Frank Arthur acted the part of Tommy, and dusted, oiled, and wound up the figures as if he had been brought up to it ” like the original Tommy. The second part of the entertainment took the form of a concert, including instrumental and vocal music, a dialogue and a humorous leading. This part of ilia programme was decidedly unsentimental, and created roars of laughter.
