HIGH WATER—SUN RISES AND SETS
ARRIVALS. The steamer Dingadee, from Auckland via East Coast ports, arrived in the bay on Thursday night, bringing—Messrs E. J ones, Arthur, Hansen, J. Booth, and three steerage. The steamer Talune came into port yesterday afternoon, from Russell and Auckland, bringing—Mrs McCarthy, Miss Stewart, Messrs Gordan, Mikm, Robson, and Jeune. DEPARTURES. The ketch Venus sailed on Thursday night for Napier. The schooner Waiapu sailed for East Coast ports, Bay of Plenty, and Auckland, yesterday afternoon. Passengers : Mrs Wilson and two children, and Mr Levert. The Dingadee left for Napier late on Thursday night, taking—Messrs Schut, Clark, and Gilmer. The steamer Talune went on South last night. Paesengers: Mrs Greenwood and three ohildren, Mrs Brown, Miss Gillice, Messrs Greenwood, Devery (2), E. Jones, Greenfield, Davis, McArthur, Lee, Bennett, Mclntosh, Masters Murphy and Reynolds, Bev. Gibson, and two Maoris. The Tyser steamer Maori King, Captain Prieke, completed her loading of frozen meat shortly after midnight last night, and immediately resumed her voyage to Lyttelton, where she takes in the balance of her Home freight. IMPORTS Per Dingadee—l4o bags sugar, 3 pkgs, 1 case, Common, Shelton and Co. ; 13 cases, J. Finlay; 4 pkgs, Clayton and Co.; 78 bags sugar, Maguire and Co, ; 5 pkgs, Burns and Co. i 8 pkgs, Mrs Ledger ; 2 pkgs, Kennedy and Evans ; 1 pkg, Pettie and Harper. Per Talune—l sack oysters, Budd ; 1 ease, 1 truss, Townley; 2 oases drapery, Mrs Ledger ; 2 pkgs, Morgan; 1 sack oysters, DeCosta. EXPORTS. Pet Waiapn—2o sacks grass seed, L. and M.A. Co.; 6 sacks potatoes, 6 sacks chaff, 4 sacks oats, and sundry cargo for the Coast, Common, Shelton and Co. | 24 sacks potatoes and a quantity of general cargo for the Coast. Per Venus—2l bales wool, Williams and Kettle j and general cargo. Per Dingadee—l horse, Williams and Kettle. The cutter Mana, which left here on Tues day that for Auckland, has returned to port windbound. The Australia steams for Tokomaru, Waipiro, Awanui, and Auckland this morning, taking—Messrs Crawford and Yellands. The Home steamer Pakeha, which was expected to arrive here yesterday, has been detained, and will not reach Gisborne till next week. The cargo steamer Ohau has been detained at Wetsport owing to bad weather. Her departure from Dunedin has been consequently postponed till Wednesday next, Oamaru Thursday, Timaru Friday, and she is expected to arrive hero on the following Tuesday. This afternoon the steamer Tarawera leaves Wellington. She calls in at Napier to-morrow forenoon, resuming her voyage north in the evening, arriving in Gisborne at 6 on Monday morning. She will be despatched for Auckland, Bussell and Sydney shortly afterwards. While being lowed out of the river yesterday the schooner Waiapu stuck hard and fast on the papa rock, but it was expected that she would float off at high tide late last night. The Harbor Board, at its last meeting, let a contract for remeviog the rocks in the channel, eo that when the work is completed there will not be so much difficulty in navigating the river. The cutter Mana also experienced some trouble in getting out the other day, by grounding on these rocks.
