POVERTY BAY TURF CLUB’S SPRING MEETING. The following nominations were received on Thursday evening last for the above meeting:— FLYING HANDICAP. Bees’ Little Joe Hepburn s Duadine Parsons’ Muccaroni Richards Oeo Currie’s Dinah Carroll's Aor ere Trotter’s Scot pion SPRING HANDICAP. Peka Kere Kere’s Brigand Parsons’ Wakatipu Parsons’ Fitzjames Bailey’s Zanzibar Karaitiana’s Papakura Clark’s Pani Clark’s Pouawa Wethered s Avis Wethered’s Hexham Captain Russell's Krina Captain Russell's Huerfana AT THE PARK.

The work daring the early part of the week Dalls for little note, bat on Thursday morning there was a slight improvement Cortolvin went twice round at half speed, and Beauly three circuits at a comfortable paca. Doadine, Little Joe, and New York, did slow work- Brigand and Assassin went a mile fast, and I may here remark that the former is a thorough gentleman, both in appearance and in his style of moving, but Is at present somewhat coarse. Brown was unfortunate in coming to Makarska to work. On the very first trip Dancing Master with an accident which will probably end her racing career. A bit of hard luck to the owner, m the horse was evidently coming back to his old form, and those who re member him know how he could move when asked. Dinah went two mites fast, moving well. Creeper did a fast three-quarter, and although hotheaded, will, with care, come right. Hexham and Avis were sent six furlongs fast, the former having all the best of it, in addition to the extra weight carried. Yesterday morning Duadine did her full jneed of work, going round three times, and the last one fast; finishing well Brigand did B useful three miles, half speed. Beauly, with the dressing gown on, completed three circuits, and Cortolvin worked slow. Little Joe and New York, in company, exercised Only. Papakura (on the big side, by the way) and Bonus were not divested of their Clothing. Creeper was sent two miles, Bloving well. Dinah also worked, Malone's team I did not see, as be is working elsewhere, but will probably get a notion as to their respective merits before the day of reckoning. I hear Mr Clark's horses, under Billy Harrison’s care, are getting into shape Pani is not doing so well as could be wished for, and has recently bad a couple of wolfs teeth extracted, but the big grey will possibly Copae round on the day when be is wanted. Flirtation has grown into a nice mare, but I doubt if she will ever be as good as her former companion Misfortune. Pouawa is looking big and healthy; Lady Constance has been turned out, Mr Clark deserves a turn of Fortune’s wheel in his direction, as hg is a thorough sportsman and consistently farthers genuine racing, Old Sfobt.
