NAPIER PARK RACING CLUBS SPRING MEETING. The first days, racing of the above club took place on Tuesday last. Tbe weather was all that could be desired, and the attendance good. The following are the results:— Trial Hurdles—Worth 1, The Pirate 2 Disturbance 3. A slow race. Won with the greatest ease. Criterion Stakes—Heather Bell 1, Kupenga 2, Sabra 3. Won by a length. Park Stakes—Rosefeldt 1, Bonlanger 2, La Petite Fille 3 Thirteen others ran, including Hilda. A grand race. Dividend £9 12s. Sapling Stakes — Wakawatea 1, St. Katherine 2, Uea 3. Four others ran Won easily. The Hurdles were won by Oakland?, Chester 2. Somnambulist 3 ; the Ahuriri Handicap by Triton, with Link 2, Lopez 8; the Railway by Krina, Heather Belli, La Petite Fill? 3 The second Trial Hurdles was won rather easily by Chester. Pirate 2, and Disturbance 3. The Caledonian Handicap was won eu lj by Bav Bell, Man Friday 2, Sabra 3—dividend £ll. The Club Handicap was won by Queen of Trumps, La Petite Fille 2, Rosefeldt 3—six other starters ; won by a length and a half, dividend £7. The Telephone Handicap was won easily by Maid of Lome, Kathleen 2, Loprz 3— dividend £8 13s. Somnambulist easily won tbe Second Hurdles, Chester 2, Worth 3. Juvenile Handicap : St. Katherine I, Adelaide 2, Ua 3 ; two others ran, won by a length and a half—dividend £3 17s. Grandstand Handicap : La Petite Fille 1, Man Friiay 2, Triton 3 ; two others started ; won by half a length-dividend £2 Is. Yesterday £5,877 was pat through tbe totalisae tor, and to-day £4,983. MsLBouRNa, October 11. The final acceptors for the Caulfield Cup are—Bungebah, Tekeum, Greygown, Tarooola Taotallon, Greet ord, Enuo, Gladstone, Niece, Clonard, Gatling, Gnaroo, Ethelbert, Mikado 11. Dillon, Ronald, Lapstone, Carrington, Dundas, Norbert, Ghinlot, Forest King, Burlesque, Knight of the Garter, Stamboul, Sjidim, Aster, Alhermarle, and Portsea. For the Melbourne Cup, Playmate, Calm, and Elfie have been scratched.
In the race for the Caulfield Stakes (16 starters) Bungebah was the first into ths straight, but Gainetorth not making every nee of his advantage the worthy son of Marvellous gradually got on terms, and coming full of running won with tbe greatest ease by a length, Dillon being half a length behind Bungebah, Malvolio fourth. Whimbrd showed a bold front. Megaphone finish- d ninth, and Tirailleur tenth. Time, Invn 57i<eo. In the Guineas (8 starters) Strom, buli was first into the straight, and wh n half on the way looked all over a winner, but he shut up like a knife wfien cellared, allowing Strathmore to win easily by three lengths, Swordbearor fourth, Saioford fifth and Astir sixth, with Sternchaser, who was coming fa>t toward the finish, seventh.
