ABBOTSFORD LODGE. The quarterly summoned mortinq of the Abbotsford Lodge of Oddfellows was held on Friday evening The officers presiding were:—Bros. E. Kingston, N.S , J. Waldron, V.S., I.P.G.M. W. Bloor. The attendance was very large and included tho Grand Master of the district, Bro. E. E. C. Hurdsfield and tho Deputy Grand Master, Bro N. McKay, also the immediate Past Grand Bro, E. Waite, who were welcomed with lodge honours. After tho usual routine *of 'business, which was interspersed with the tuneful lodge Odes, several delivering tho exhortation to the candidates. An election of officers resulted in Bro J. Waldron being elected as N.G. The lodge confirmed the striking of hospital levy of 25s per annum, and a mot : on was passed, as per notice, that the amount available from the declared sulplus, £3926. be appropriated ns follows-War Members’ Relief Fund, £l2l 4s, H.B. District Benevolent Fund. £260, Allocation to Members, £2539 16s. AbbotsforU Lodgeioom Property, £250. After the lodge business closed tho rest of the evening was spent In social harmony and dancing, tne lady members, providing a dainty supper. It may bo noted that the Lodge funds now total £15713 4s 10d, showing a Aery healthy position. Quite recently the Lodge room was removed to a more convenient position and thoroughly renovated and enlarged. the building now containing a large social and meeting loom, two dressing rooms and a kitchen with all conveniences, making it one of the best equipped Lodge rooms in the province. GENERAL NEWS A grand concert is to bo put on .in the Municipal Theatre next Tuesday evening by tho Napier Frivolity Minstrels in aid of the local Punket Society. The local postal officials have been severely taxed this last week in coping with the extra work of registering motor vehicles, and on Friday the Post Office was packed with farmers and others for this object.
