Lord and Lady Bledisloe arrived in New Plymouth last night ana were accorded a warm welcome by a large assembly at a civic reception. Lord Bledisloe attended the Winter Show to-day. He will visit other Taranaki towns and Mt. Egmont and depart on Saturday.

Mr. H. M. Campbell, M.P., who left for Wellington on Wednesday on business in connection with tho Hawke’s Bay constituency, is expected to return during the weekend.
Mr. A. B. Lane, for many years news editor of the Christchurch “limes” and “Star,” who has been appointed manager of the Press Association. was the guest of Christchurch journalists at Christchurch yesterday.
Mr. P. R. M. Hanna formerly manager of the National Bank of New Zealand at Dunedin, has joined the general manager's staff in Wellington, and is supervising the North Island division of the bank.
Mr. Malcolm Cameron, who has been transferred from the Department of Agriculture. Hastings, to the Public Trust, Napier, was presented on Monday night with n travelling case and a wallet by the staff, of which lie had been a member for two years.
Mr. Adrian Kinross White, son of Mr. W. Kinross White, of Omaranui, has received notification that he has passed with honours the prescribed tests in the examination carried out at the Longlands aerodrome and has qualified for an “A” pilot’s certificate. Mr. Adrian White is only 17 years of age and is still a student at Wanganui College.
