A Toronto report states that Pearce, junior the Australian sculler, who is at present training at Hamilton for the Empire games, may become a citizen of Hamilton. It is understood that he has boon offered an excellent position and has accepted. GUEST NOT COMPETING. (United Press Association—By CableCopyright.] Vancouver, August 7. A mesasge from Toronto states, that Jack Guest, holder of the Diamond Sculls will be unable to compete at the Empire sculling at Hamilton. He finds it impossible, after two weeks’ earnest training, to get into satisfactory condition. Consequently he will not compete in the contests this year, he says in a letter ip a local newspaper.
