CENTRAL H.B. POWER BOARD

OTANE CONSUMERS’ REQUEST MEMBERS SYMPATHETIC. Mr. R. H. White, a member of the Patangata County Council, attended this morning’s meeting of the Central Hawke’a Bay Power Board in the interest of Otane consumers of electricity, asking that they be not placed on the country rate in the interim of tho position being revised at the end of the financial year, March 31st next. The board had .proposed placing tho former Otane Town District on the higher rate of minimum charges by virtue of the town district having become merged into the Patangata County. A strong case was put forward by Mr. White, and the board agreed unanimously not to take action in the matter prior to March 31st next.
