Returns received indicate that 283,731 cows were tested in 1929-30, an increase of 24,137 over the 1928I’9 total of 259,594. Last year’s number represents 20.4 per cent, of the total of the Dominion’s dairy cows in milk, or 19.7 per cent, of all cows —in milk and dry. The increased total is the result of more group testing, the other branches of ordinary herd-testing having shown a falling-off.
