OSCAR GARDEN AT GISBORNE. HASTINGS TO-MORROW. (Per Press Association.) Gisborne, December 19. Mr Oscar Garden, accompanied by Captain Haig, left Rotorua at 10.20 o’clock and circled over Gisborne at noon. They were met by the local aviator, Mr George Nicholls, and escorted to the aerodrome and subsequently given a civic welcome. They will be entertained at dinner to-night by the local Aero dub. The public are invited to attend at the Longlands Aerodrome at 12 noon to-morrow (Saturday), to welcome Mr Oscar Garden, who will arrive by ’plane. A reception will be tendered him by Sir Andrew Russell (club president). Mr. H. M. Campbell, M.P., and His Worship the Mayor. Mr. G. F. Roach. In the evening the officers of the H.B. and E.C. Aero Club will entertain the visiting airman at a dinner at the Grand Hotel.
