WEALTH OF NATIONS.
Wednesday, March 21. The treatment of the tailings in the berdans recently weeted must evidently produce a most favorable result, as another extensive improvement is now about to be made at the machine bouse, and will doubtless prove highly remunerative for the expense of its construction. It is now intended to build an addition to the present machine house for the purpose of laying down another run of tables lift in le D gth, which will be fixed in a position to catch the whole of the tailings after leaving the berdans. Hands have now commenced to excavate the ground for the above work, and the woodwork is alsin course of preparation. Another yen good parcel of amalgam was obtained from the plates for last week amoantiny to42Boas. The hands in the Enterprise tunnel are steadily driving in likely looking country, and meet with occasional blocks of stone. The contractors continue to keep up the supply for the Battery, and their operations offer nothing of special importance to mention.
