ENGLAND'S ACTION.
(New York Herald.) According to the Manchester Guardian there is a conflict of opinion between, Lord Beaconsfield. and some of his colleagues as to the part England shall im* mediately take in the Eastern Question. This, however, is certain, that an armycorps of 30,000 op 40,000, men is being rapidly prepared for dispatch to any point where English interests require its services. It is highly probable that thia corps will rendezvous at Malta orGibraltar. The command is to be offered to I<prd Napier, of Magdala. Orders have been issued from the WarOffice to British oncers on leave of ab-. sence to rej >in their regiments immediately. This statement is made by an. influential paper in the confidence of the (?oyernmeut, and is regarded aa ominous* (t is also announced tha,t the British fleet at Malta lias beeo ordered to. procee'di ea«tward^ Tbe Dockyard authorities at Portsmonth have received instructions to. use. nil possible expedition in refilling an,! completing tlio Minotaur, Hercules,. Triumph, Active, and Inconstant for sea. The Times says the Mjin/itaarcould he sent to sea at once. The. Active would require months of preparation^ ' Tae Inconstant and Triumph are also in a very backward state, but the Thunderer and double turret ship Boadicea are quit? ready. It is thoasbt the destination of ■ the Urgent* which is, about to. proceed to sen, will be changed t& the Mediterranean^ - It is stated the Government have also. 1 ordered tbe speedy completion of all men-of-war building in the Clyde. Th^se. include the Nelson and Northampton, ironclads, which are to be armed with, four 18-ton, eight 12-ton, and sis torpedo. 1 guns, and six steel corvettes, and twos gunboats. The last are in a forward state. The Nelson and Notthamftta ! would, under ordtmry circunismiipex, take about a, year fa complete,; the. other*, are not yet hunched.
