Mr Roid appeared for dofondant, who pleadod ' not guilty,' Three soparnto inform aiions wore laid against dofondant for alloged salos on tho 14th April, 7th Juno, and 11th Juno last, that of tho 7th Juno being talton first. Tho ovidonoo given for tho prosooution scorned fiomowhat conflicting as tho Sorgoant of Polioo deomod it necessary to Htop into tho box and contradict the testis mony of tho first witness callod. From tho ovidonco of Miss Ooohrano, a witness callod for tho prosooution, it appcarod that tho dofondnnt had givon ox« frosu orders not to sell in qunntitios loss than two gallons— that so far tho witness know dofondant was not awaro of any sale I as alleged in tho information, or in any way approved of such snlo. Mr Hoid claimed that upon tho evidenco of this last witness tho information, must bo dismissed, nnd quotod moral authorities in support of his contention. After soino argument his Worship decidod to/rosorvo his decision in ordor to determine whether ho would dismiss tho informations, or call upon tho defendant to reply, Tho Court then adjourned till 11 a.m. to«day.
