REUTERS' CABLEGRAMS. [PEH PBESS AGENCY.] Melboubne February 10. Berry addressed tbe Geelong electors yesterday. In his speech he defended the policy and aetiona of the Government. He sketched a full programme of the Ministry, and stated they had resolved to abandon a nominee clause, but should retain a plebiscite, and sixth clause in next Reform Bill. A vote of confidence was carried by a large majority. Rome, February 9. The Vatican is at present engaged discussing certain proposals which had been submitted to His Ffoliness with a view of promoting a union of English Rituals ists with the Roman Catholic Church, New York, February 9. A Bill has been introduced into the State legislature of lowa to make women eligible for election in the U.S. Congress.
