The late general elections in Victoria, which resulted so disastrously 'or the Berry Miuiatrv, have excited no small interest not only throughout the colonies, but in the old country, A few figures in connection with them will not be without interest to many of oar readers. The total number of voters oa the rolls of the fifty .-three constituencies was 199,578. The largest electoral in point of number of voters was St. Ktlda with 70C7, the smajlest that of Belfast with 1108. • 'ut of the whole number of electors 128,973 voted, so neaily one third of the whole, notwithstanding the ex* citeraent prevailing did not exercise their franchise. Out of those who polled, according to the Age, from winch we fake our figures, 64,568 voted in favor of the Ministerial can* drrfates, and 64,405 for the Opposition, If this return be correct the Berry .Government had actually more votes than' their opponents, but it mu^t.be taken with a very large grain of. suit; indeed; emanating -as it does fpom such a thick ' and thin partisan pa} er^fa.v«caWe,to the late Ministers.
