THE GREY MAIL.
[To thb Emtob Inangahua Tim™ ] Sib,— lt woulJ appear that the Grey mail contractors csn do just as they like in the matter of tbe mail serree between Greymou'h and Beefton* The slight rain of riatorday lust might be taken as some excuse for the mail not being delivered on that evening, hut there was nothing in Uie world to prevent the coaoh from coming through on Sunday, asd yet the people have to wai! until last n'ght fov (heir letters. The Westport miil contractor was able to get through otj Sun* day, though he had to do it on horseback, and there is no excuse why tbe southern mail shuld not a!«o have been dftliTered on that day. Five days is too long altogether for a place like Beefton to b» left without ft mail, and nnless the present service can he carried out more nunctnally. I would suggest the advisability of gettine "P a memorial tn the Government asking for a return to the daily mail service. Apologising for trespassing upon yonr space. I remain. Ac, D«3*ATGS. Beefton, 13th Anril, 1880.
