T-i is notified in the Gazette that Parliament has been prorogued to tfcp 28th instant, upon which date hon. members are commanded by his Excellency to meet for the despatch of business. Everything appears to indicate that the session will-be an un«usnaHy long and eventful one. "There can be little doubt that the whole policy of the Colony, will have to be recast, and it is believed thatjjpon* this H^rtHf^BFovSSmSnThave smue awkward surprises in store. What the nature of these surprises is, can only be guessed, but itis beyond any manner of doubt tbat increased taxation will be a very strong ingredient in tbe new programme, whatever it be. We learn by telegram that the whole of the Ministers have arrived in Wellington and will hold a Cabinet meeting to«day, for tbe purpose of drafting the proposals of the Government for the coming sfssfon.
