The coffin was • carried to the grave by six of his - friends, and there was a large following, ■ Neilson was a relative of the Hon. W. ■ E. ' * Dunewn, May 5. , As the last goods train from Clinton hnd got about half a mile on this side of Waihola last evening, the engine apparently struck something, and the train, was stopped immediately. The guard, nn looking about, found a man dead lyinr across the rails. A telegram was received in town this afternoon, intimating that (be body has since been identified as that of one Jas. Bacon. It was removed to Waihola, where an inquest will be held in due course. An examination of the engine attached to the goeds train which followed the ex» press showed that there were markß of blood and brains upon it so that the de* ceased must have been killed by this engine. _______„„__
