The Parliamentary representatives of tbe City of Nelson having apparently recovered from their recent Court bickerings, have now started spitting fire and brimstone at each other in print, over the momentous question as to which is the " senior member of the City." Mr A dams is reported to have said on a recent public occasion that Mr Pitt, his colleague- was jealous of the position which he (the , speaker) held as the '* senior representative of tbe City," In a letter to the ■ evening paper Mr Pitt denies his col-. ' league's right to the distinction claimed ' by hina, alleging tint having been relumed at the head of the poll at the late election, he (Mr Pitt) held the position of honor. Upon this M* Adams appealed by wipe to the Speaker of the House. In his reply Mr O'Rorke appears to support the Adamite contention, holding that seniority counts from first entry to tbe House, apd Mr Adams having sat in the previous Parliament, was therefore entited to precedence. The point was no doubt an, extremely im« portant one, and it is consoling to lparn that it has been settled without further bloodshed.
