WARDEN'S COURT.
Fbibay. Jitsth 4th, 1880. (Before Mr Warden Revell.) Applications. James and Alexander Ross applied for a bead-race at Lankey's Gully. The ap plication was opposed by Oliiver John s f on, on the ground that it would interfere wilh his existing rights. Evidence was taken at some length, but as it was very conflicting the Warden decided to visit the ground before deciding. Philip Stanley applied for a head-race, three <ni)es long, terminating in bis claim Raglan's Gully. Granted. Edmund O'Brien applied for drouble* area of ground at Cement Town, Murrpy Creek ; also, head-race from the right and left branches of Coal Creek. Granted. Ha well and party appl'ed for six months' protection of hut and tramway near Energetic mine, Murray Creek. Granted. Bumble and GilchrisUpplied for double area of ground for alluvial mining at AHred Creek, near Cannibal Gorge, Maruia. Granted. The same party also applied for a head-race, one mile in length, from the right branch of the Irving river, and terminating on their claim. Granted. In the ease of Miller v. Ross, an encroachment case arising at Lankey's Gully, a verdict*was given for defendant, and complainant was ordered to pay full costs. The Court then adjourned.
