Melbourne, September 2. The Assembly met on Tuesday, when the Government introduced a Bill, empowering tbe Governor to issue Treasury bills anticipating the revenue, the object being to provide for the current expenditure before the tasa* tion is dun. The Ministry will adjourn for the opening of the Exhibition, bufc the length of the vacation depends on the business. It is now' staled that the Budget, which was intended to be introduced next week ; has been postponed till after the vacation. Mr Berry proposes an Exchequer Bill, to run two years, and hopes the demand for tho same will enable the Government to reduce the bank overdraft at six per cent, interest.
