Mr Sfcafiord's raadicul adviaer did not lose confidence, and under his treatment considerable amelioration took place and hopes were left that the sufferer would ultimately recover. On Saturday last, however; Mr Stafford was seized by a fit, and on the remedies administered proving of some avail, he was found to be in a very prostrate condition, Dur* ing the night, we understand, he had a second attack, and that before Dr Monckton could be in attendance he pawed away. Mr Stafford by his geniality was a general favorite ;he came to Nelson, we believe, about; the , year 1853 and for some years took a keen interest in turf matters, being at all times a tbroush sportsman. Uulike his brother, Sir W. E Stafford, be meddled not with politics at all } events until the last election, when he was a candidate for the seat which the late Mr A. Richmond secured Mr Stafford will long be missed, whilst for his widow and family the upmost sympathy will be felt. — Nelson Colonist.
