A two-ton tub of concrete on, the "Traveller" capsized, throwing the men on it en to the ground. One man named Mulholland got a nasty scalp wound. J. Jarey was badly bruised on the left thigh, and another man had his collar bone badly brokpn, and wr>B also badly bruised about |Lis logs and face, A fourth man escaped with a cut on the arm.
In the Supreme Court, the case of Ivess v. Crisp, an action for malicious prosecution* in which a claim of £500 was made, for damages, a verdict was given fop plaintiff for £25, and costs. A woman named Annie Kay, a rather notorious character, was found lifeless in a house yesterday. She had ail her clothes on, and had apparently been dead forty- eight hours, An inquest is to be held to-morrow. In the divorce case, heard yesterday, H,edley v. Hedley and Anderson, an application by the husband for divorce and action for damages ogainst co-respondent, a verdict for £350 was given, and divorce grunted. The corespondent carried ihe colors of his regiment at the Alma, and was twice the age of the respondent, Mrs Hedley. Auckland, January 25. Thomas Coutlin, an half-caste, has been committed for trial, for rape on Mary Ann Mackeish, at Mercury Bay.
An old womau, a lunatic, hanged herself last night at the Old Women's Refuge. There were tvelve other women sleeping in the room at the time.
