The reminded charges against the ten sailors of the steamers Hoia and Manas watu, who had struck work, were brought on to-dy, together with the six sailors of the Storm bird. No inquest was held, bat an in* quiry will be held by the authorities. February 6. A fire occurred here last night, and the house of Mr Witbington was des« troyed, and their children burnt to death. The parents bad been down town, and reached home while the fire was still raging, though too late to rescue the children, who had been locked up •n the honse. • They were very young, the eldest being only four years. The distress of both the parents was terrible to witness, and numbers of people were moved to tears by the sight.
