WARDEN'S COURT.
« Thub9dat, Februaby lOth, 1881. (Before Mr Warden Be veil.) Applications : Daniel and Thomas M'Gee applied for a dam at the south side of Merrijip, which was granted. Frances Msnnan, application for a dam and reservoir, 400 ft x 600, at Lankey'w Creek— granted. An application of Thomas Davis, for dam bank at a tributary to Ajax Creek, was objected to by William Shaw, on tbe ground that the erection of a dam embankment would cause the water to back up to bis claim, and flood tbe same to such extent as would render it unworkable. Tbe Warden granted tbe application on condition (bat no backing up of water takes place on to Shaw's claim, in which case, the dam will fe» ordered to be cut and certificate can* celled. Thomas Davis, application for double area— refused. Thomas Eddy, application for extended area in Devil's Creek — refused. The following mining privileges were applied for by Thomas Eddy, and granted :— Water-race near Soldier's at Fryer's Gully ; waler-rac* north side Fryer's Gully ; taiNrace, 500 yards, at Fryer's Gully; tunnel, 200 feet, right hand side of Fryer's, and dam»bank, head of Fryer's Gully. The Court then adjourned.
