[BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. [fbom oub own cobbbspondent.] Wellington, March 12. The Wellington Asylum inquiry is still 00, and likely to last seven days longer, Auckland, March 11. The latest sensation is an elopement case at the North Shore. Two Cfardi* ners, one older than the other, were friends, and a feeling of affection grew up between Ihe younper of the men, who was unmarried, and his friend's wife. One day these two were missed. It is stated they left for Australia, the wife taking the deeds of some property held in the joint names of herself and husband, Owing to disclosures of the existence of immoral practices between the elder children at the Industrial Home, the Committee has decided to send to service boys over twelve years. A general tneetinjr will shortly be held to consider ; the position of the Home, and to get the Government to provide pro- er buildings for the separation of the sexes and enforcing discipline. Ghbistchttbch, March 12. Mr Warren, late manager of the Colonial Bink, who is leaving Christ* church, was presenteJ to-day with 310 guineas and a salver of Colonial silver, by a number of gentlemen.
