: ; (]TO THE SDITOB INANOAHtJA tIICKS.] Sib,— Out of respect to those who gave me their votes, and placed me at the head of tbe poll at (he late election of a committee for , the State ( School, I ask yon to ptoblnh a better that I received yesterday from the secretary to that committee, and also a few words of comment that I have to make upon it. I have, therefore, on behalf of the Reefton Committee to intimate to you that they have no other course left than to declare, your election void, you not having obtained fJwi?J order of discharge under . tha -Debtor*' and Creditors' Acts now in force;— l am,*sir, Jyours obediently— W. Now, on the night of the election and after the declaration of the poll,- 1 was informed, upon good authority, that Messrs Jones and PreshW expressed I themselves determined that I ahould not ijs on She committees and stated that I was an infidel and a bankrupt. Now. if these statements were true, there would be some ground for thl action taken by tbis eminently respectable eouple, tbutl l deny it, arid'challenge vMf J^s hjs, companion"in»afmi to(^■nveLli thd coittrary. lint tbe'ifae&.i* my position at the head of the poll has so annoyed theae*gentlemen, that they evi-dently-arc determined, as far as fhey are able, to carry their threat into execution.
