HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.
A special meeting of the HospitalCommittee was held at tbe Council Chambers, on Monday evening last. Present : Messrs Aiken, Collings, Caples, Wise, Wallace, and Craig. On the motion of Mr Craig, Mr Aikeo wag voted to tbe chair. Proposed by Mr Caples, seconded by Mr Wallace, and carried, that (he retiw ing secretary be reflected at a salary of £30 per year. Proposed by Mr Colling seconded by Air Craig, and carried, that Mf Patter* son be appointed treasurer. Mo7ed by Mr Collings, seconded by Mr Wise, and carried, that MessrsM'Sherrj and Scoltock be appointed auditors. Hesolred on the motion of Mr Ceilings, seoonded by Mr Wallace, that the secretary be appointed collector for Beefton and Black 'B Point, at a remuneration of sper cent ; Murray Creek and Crushing* ton at 10 per cent, and other districts at 15 per cent. Tbe following tenders were opened for supplies :— Coak : James Connolly, 30s per ton. Arthur Breen, 21s per ton. Firewood : Moor, 16s per cord, and if accepted he would give a subscription of £1 Is to thehospital. George Brou, 13s per cord, and if ac» cepted would give a donatioa of £2 2i 6i to the Hospital. A. M'Dowail, 15* per cord, D. J. M'Kenna, 13* 9J per cord. A. Breen. 13s per coni, (and if tender accepted for coals) to hand a donation of 25s to the Hospital. Mile : M'Kenna, 6d per quirt. Patlinson, 6i " " Meat c Paine-* Joints of beof, mutfon, nnct chops, 5d per 1b ; becks of beet and mutton, 3d per 1b ; legs of beef, Is 6d, and shins, Is each. Dick— Beef and mntton, 5|.l per lb ; lefts of beef 2s , shins. Is 6d each, and veal and pork, 9J per lb. Bbead : Corbett, lid per 41b loaf. Gbocebie* : John Ching, groceries, wines, and spirits. R. Oxley, groceries, wines, and spirits § FITNEBALS : T. Crumpton. £3 10s W. Dunn, £3 13s 6 1, The consideration of the tenders for coils was left over for the Visiting Committee to test their respective merits. On the motion of Mr Patterson, seconded by Mr Wallace, the tender of George Brou was accepted for supply of firewood, On the motion of Mr Wise, seconded* by Mr Aiken, the tender of D. J. M'Kenna, was accepted for milk. On tbe motion of Mr Collings, se« conded by Mr Craig, E. Paine's tender was accepted for meat. The tender of Mr Cbing, being the lowest, was accepted for groceries. Mr Corbeit's tender was accepted for bread, and Mr T. Crumpton's tender was accepted for furnisbiug funerals. Proposed by Mr Aiken, seconded by Mr Craig, that Messrs Patterson, Wise, and Caples, be appointed a committee to assist Mr Presbaw in drafting a new code of Rules for the Institution, and to bring up a draft at the next meeting. Carried. Proposed by Mr Caples, seconded by Mr Wallace, and carried, that Messr» Aiken, Collings. Wise, Patterson, and Cohen, be an admission coamittie— three to form a quorum
Resolved that tbe rfgular monthly meeting of the committee be held on the first Wednesday in each month, at 9 a'clock at the Council Chambers. Messrs Cohen, Wallace, and Colling*, were appointei Visiting Committed for the month.
