She was at once cfnarantined, and it is expected that she will not be released for forty* tw<J days. Two fresh Cases of small-pox were res ported* to the authorities to«day from the Surrey Hills, tfbe sufferers are another child of the carpenter, Edward Rout, who died of the disease on the 17th instant, and the mother of the child. The house and all the initiates are still kept in strict quarantine in order to prevent any possibility of the disease spreading. CONSTANTINOPLE, 26. Evacuation has been commenced by Turkish troops of the town and districts of Arta. in the southern portion of Epirus, which is to be ceded to Greece in accordance with the terms of the frons 4jg£-.setUement ; the transfer of the dig* trict will, it is expected, be made shortly. London, 26. * Intelligence has been received that a rising has commenced among the natives employed on the plantations at Kirwane, in Senegambia, West Ccast of Africa ; some excesses have already been committed against the planters and a general panic has consequently arisen among European settlers in the distaict, many of whom are leaving. A telegram is to hand reporting that a terrible accident has occurred in Mexico ; a train conveying a large number of passengers was precipitated into river Cuartilla, and oyer 2200 persons were drowned. A dreadful shock of earthquake has been felt in Armenia and a large amount of damage caused and over 100 persons perished. Terrible storms have occurred in the United States and caused widespread devastation; the city of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, situate on the Ohio river, has suffered enormous damage, the destruction to property being unprecedented. Government are continuing the arrest of persons who are concerned in stirring up disturbances in Ireland ; up to the present time the total number of arrests is 110. A tremendous hail storm has occurred in lowa, a large amount of damage was done and several persons were killed by heilstones which were of immense size.
