LARRY'S CREEK.
CALEDONIAN EXTENDED. On Saturday evening, the mining manager of the Caledonian Company at Larry's reported having met with some very rich stone in driving the low level south. The quantity is small as yet and not Well-defined, but as it was unexpected is very encouraging to the share* holders. At the beginning of the month Mr Atkinson, the oompany's surveyor, measured up the work and estimated that the south line would require to he extended 230 feet before the strike of the No 2 South Larry's reef might be ex» pected to be met, The shares of the company ouiside of this district are distributed throughout the Colony, a large number being held in Westport ; the present workings are some l^Ofi below the level of Larry's Oreek, and pumps are constantly at work draining the ground ; the calls in the present amalgamated company have been many, and we hope and believe that at no very distant date the shareholders will be handsomely rewarded for their en* erprise.
