Thi3 company, which resumed crushilig during the latter part of the previous week, had a cleaning of top plates to— Jay, and obtained 1400z3 of amalgam from 85 lon 3
of stone. This return i 3 barely oqual to the average of last month's yield, but the reef in the several stopes has now assumed larger proportions, so that the supply of stone with the same amount of labor will be more plentiful. The three stopes now in operation show the thickness of rsef to be four, six, and ten feet, respectively, and as the double whip now under construction will be completed, as soon as the pulleys and other nppliannes which are to be cast by Mr Kilgour at his Black's Point foundry are delivered, it is probable that the whole power of the mill will be required shortly to keep up with the increased output of etone. The contractors for the extension of the main level have not as yet commenced this work, as the company required their services on day labor to timber and secure the ground adjacent to where the they intend to construct an uprise \o reach a body of stone, which is expected to be mcl with above the main level and midway between the two shafts, ■
