August Ist, 1881, it was resolved on the motion of Councillor Williams, seconded by Councillor Trennery— That the Council doth by this ieeolution make and levy a separate rate of three pence in the pound on the annual value of all rateable property as appearing in the valuation roll for the time being in force within that portion of the Biding of Keefton as defined by the following boundaries, viz— On the north by tbe right-of-way between Sbiel-street and Church street ; on tbe south by tbe Inangahua river ; on ths east by Donovan-street and on the west by Hampden road ; and the said rate is hereby made : That it bo for a period of one year commencing on the Ist day of September, 1381 ; and tbat it be payable in one sum on the 7th day of September. 1881. and this resolution is hereby declared to be a special order of the said Council.
