Miss Carrie Godfrey, who travelled with the Siinonseu's Opera Company, is a native of Boston, Mas., and intends returning home shortly, ■ E. D, Davies, the Premier Ventriloquist of the World, was to open in San Francisco on July 25th. Harry LeClair, here with the Victoria Loftus Troupe, his relumed to New York, and is arranging to appear thire. Dion Boiicicault's brother William (says the New York Clipper) died suddenly on June 16« h. in a railway carriage, near London, England. Tincoroner's inquest showed that he died of a heart complaint, aggravated by hurrying to catch the railway train. Deceased was the tlde^t of three brothers, Dion being the youngest. William and George, while young went to Australia and founded the Melboune Argus, which tbey worked into a valuable property. Some years ago they returned to England with handsome fortunes. William has, it is said, since his return, suffered from mental derangement, which incapacitated hira from re-engaging in busU ness. According to tbe Era, of Juno 11th, Joe Graham was performing Talbot Champneys at the Theatre Royal, Rochdale, Speaking of the death of Coram >dore Nutt, the New York Clipper says:— Commodore Nutt diedonMiy 25ch, at the Anthony House, N.Y., aged 37, He had been ill for about three months from Bright's disease of the kidneys, His remains were taken to Manchester, N,H,, his native place, and interred in the family vulat. His parents were large people, his father weighing oyer 250 lbs., aud of his five brothers and sisters only one otherRod ma Jr, — was a dwarf. About two years and a half ago the Commodore led to the altar Miss Lillian Elstar, who, although a small woman, is much taller than her husband. He died intestate, and is understood to have left behind a considerable sum of money. The proprietors of the Illustrated London News have issued the first number of an illustrated weekly news* paper for boys, called tbe Boys' Illustrated News.
