Night of general entry 22nd December 1881, No entry will be received for any of the races except on this condition — That all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or those whom they may appoint. Their decisions upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. The terra "district horse" shall be understood to mean any horse the bona fide property from Ist October, 1881 of a person residing within the County of Inangahua aud Riding of Lyell. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Secretary. Entrance money and qualification enclosed, with the mime, age, and pedigree of the horse, name of the owner and colours of the rider, and delivered not later than 8 p.m., on Thursday, 22nd December 1881. No person will be allowed to enter a horse for any race unless be be a subscriber to the race fund of not less than 2 aovs ; hack and Trotting races excepted. In the event of a^y person entering a protest, the sura of £2 2s must be lodged with the Secretary before such protest is considered, this sum to be forfeited to the funds should the Stewards considered the protest frivolous or vexatious. Three horses must accept for each evsnt or the public money will not be given. Mares allowed 51 ba, gelding 31bs. throughout tbe year; stakes paid less s per cent. Dunedin Jockey Club Rules. R. J.
