A sample of stone from, the new reef was brought to town on Monday last, and is certainly equal, if not superior, to any yet shown from that pait of the district. GOLDEN POINT COMPANY. Tenders will be arcepted to-night for 60ft of tunnelling. It was reported yesterday that the reef was widening out as work proceeded K A portion of tbe stone brought to town was exceediugly rich. MORNING STAR. This company's ground adjoins the Golden Point lease on *the south, and was originally taken up by Mr Thompson, who obtained h promising sample- of go]d<bearing stone on tbe surface, and at the time the prospects were considered sufficiently good to warrant the formation of a company, Ooe call was made and a few week's work done, but in the depression which shortly after came- v* on the district, operations were suspended. Work was, however^ resumed en Mon« day last, the hands under Mr E: Carton, having started to follow up the traces of stone found on the surface. FIERY CROSS. Shares in this company were in active demand yesterday, and prices advanced from 9d to 15s, closing with a brisk business. LOW LEVEL TUNNEL.
