In the north drive, eighteen inches of j gold-bearinj? stone is in tbe face. The contractors for driving here have nbin« doned tbeir contract as they could not make it puj. The south drive is still being continued by contract. A chsm<* ber has been cut out about 60 feet from tbe month of the north drive, and it is decided to sink a winze from this j point on some good stoDe, which appears underfoot.
