♦ rBY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.] [FfiOM 0178 OWX COEBESPCNDBNT.] Cheistchurch, 2. The Bishop of Nelson has published this morning a series of telegrams between Rolleston and himself. Holiest on asks the bishop whether it is correct as reported that the bishop bad said to several people that Government's treatm9nt of tbe natives had been actuated by political considerations, with a view to influencing the elections, and the bishop replied that the statement whether made or not appeared to him self, evident and harmless, but he protested against the Govrrnment requiring of him an account of private conversations. Rolleston in answer said he had not required anything of tbe kind, but merely wished to ascertain whether the statement which itn puted such disgraceful conduct to tne Government was' true. Auckland 2, Grey addressed a crowded meeting at Hamilton to-night and received a vote of confidence.
